HOME Eclectic	Africa rising Or at least South Africa. It is rising in the rankings of the countries most often visiting this site. It is now in the top 10 as you can easily see from these stats collected on December 18th, 2009. They refer to the last 30 days. I don't think any other African country has been that high. I don't think also I have any clients in Africa. Or perhaps I do, but just don't know about it. If that's the case, they are much more likely to come from South Africa than from any other African nation.  I was once considering getting my Ph.D. in South Africa. I thought it would be cool to visit Africa and South Africa seemed to be particularly suitable for my goal because of Professor George Ellis, a well-known cosmologist, a former collaborator of Steven Hawking, and a very respected man all around. Professor Ellis is a Quaker. Quakers are a bit like Buddhists. But being a Quaker can be just a way of living your life, just like being a Buddhist. Even some atheists like to hang out with Quakers, frequenting their meetings. The same can also be said about Buddhism. It attracts all sorts of people, both religious and not. I contacted Professor Ellis about it and he seemed very much interested in my coming over to Cape Town to work under him towards my Ph.D. I did not end up in South Africa, though, but did my Ph.D. in the U.S.  If you check out this screenshot closely, you will also see that Russians and Germans still remain neck in neck and that Aussies are losing badly to Brits who came very close to catching up with Canadians.  And if you want to know where all these people are most likely to end up, here is your answer.
