Books for Traders

I have read many books on trading and related topics and most of them have not left a particular mark in my memory. A few selected below are the exception to this rule and I recommend them highly.

Trading Psychology

Big Trends in Trading: Strategies to Master Major Market Moves
Chapter 12 that deals with the psychology of trading is alone worth the price of this book.
Feet Of Clay
Read this book if you want to better understand the psychology or rather psychopathology of most chatroom gurus or other con artists in the trading and investing world.

Goal Achieving and Motivation

Unleash the Warrior Within
How to Think Like a Millionaire
The Sedona Method: Your Key to Lasting Happiness, Success, Peace and Emotional Well-Being
The Right Questions: Ten Essential Questions To Guide You To An Extraordinary Life
These books can be useful not only to traders, but to anyone who wants to change his or her life.

Trading Inspiration

Market Wizards: Interviews with Top Traders
The New Market Wizards: Conversations with America's Top Traders
Stock Market Wizards: Interviews with America's Top Stock Traders
Reminiscences of a Stock Operator
These are classics, especially the last one.

Trade Your Way to Financial Freedom
A must for any serious trader...
High Probability trading
Good for those starting in daytrading...
Trader Vic--Methods of a Wall Street Master
Trader Vic II--Principles of Professional Speculation
Two truly good books by a veteran trader, Victor Sperandeo.
Investor's Business Daily Guide to the Markets
The best primer on investing in a variety of markets I have seen.

Trading Stocks

These books make for a very good and entertaining reading while being quite educational at the same time...

Critical Thinking

Crimes Against Logic
How We Know What Isn't So
Why Smart People Make Big Money Mistakes And How To Correct Them: Lessons From The New Science Of Behavioral Economics
There is absolutely no substitute for common sense and critical thinking when it comes to trading or investing- read these books if you want to be better off than most.

Magazines for Traders

To keep in touch with the developments in the trading world, it is advisable to read or at least to peruse the industry magazines. Below are a few that you may want to get familiar with.

Stocks, Futures and Options Magazine
The best out there in my opinion and free on top of that.
Futures Magazine
I once got a free subscription to it and now keep renewing it for free. Otherwise, it would probably not be worth my money.
Technical Analysis of STOCKS & COMMODITIES
Very well known, used to subscribe to it, but these days I only peruse it at my local Borders bookstore.
Active Trader Magazine
Don't have any particular opinion about it as I have never subscribed to it, but from time to time I glance over it at my local Borders store.
