Edward Kennedy and the littlest refusnik Ted Kennedy, the brother of John F. Kennedy and one of the most distinguished US senators, passed away two days ago. He was a flawed man. He even killed a woman in a car accident, something that many never tire of pointing out. And quite often these are the very same people who approved of and even voted for the war in Iraq that took the lives of thousands of innocent people. Stalin once said, "the death of an individual is a tragedy, but the death of millions is just statistics." At least Ted Kennedy is not guilty of this kind of statistics for he was against this war. Yes, he was not perfect, but he could have just faded into the obscurity after that fatal car accident living a comfortable life of the privileged, but instead he decided to stay in the public life and redeem himself. Did he succeed? Well, I am not the one to judge, but I think he definitely did his best. Like in this story, quite touching, about a little Jewish girl from the former Soviet Union who would not be alive today if it were not for his personal intervention.
