Advanced math = advanced headache?

I am aware that some people (most, perhaps) associate math with just about one other thing and it is a headache. And I am talking only about rudimentary math. Forget stuff like calculus and such. 

What happens when people like that have to face advanced math? Or, to rephrase this question a bit, can your advanced math induce an "advanced headache" in these people? I would say it's easier to do this than you probably think. Not to mention that some individuals may even do this quite deliberately. Like, those, should we say, with a meaner streak... Especially, to get even on others...
