HOME Eclectic	I am a cat person Yes, some people like dogs. And they like dogs over cats and over other pets like iguanas or something. And then there are folks that like cats over all other pets, dogs included. I am in the latter category, so I am a cat person.  I have no problem with dog persons. I think that dogs are cool and stuff, but I just find cats more to my liking. Cats are more independent unlike dogs that have been conditioned to please people and they know how to do this well. They are called man's best friend, but I am not sure if one can trust them. I am not sure how real it is. Would they be as friendly towards us if they did not need us for their survival? In this very respect, dolphins may be more friendly towards humans than dogs are as they are known to help humans in danger and one cannot say that they do this expecting something in return. I am a cat person probably because as a kid I was growing up with five cats, two adults and three young ones. (Or perhaps it was two plus five? I am really not sure now...) The father of the family was born about the same time as I, but by the time he was 5 years old he had already had his own family, while I was still wondering where those new cats had come from. He was clearly ahead of me in the game of life. We humans can be so slow... And I am still a cat person, although I have no cats anymore. The only ones I see these days are some feral ones living not far away from me, down here in Hollywood. Some elderly lady makes sure they have enough food to live. And I am sure they don't need much beyond that as the climate of Southern California makes their lives here just fabulous. Yes, those celebrity Beverly Hills brat cats may still live better lives, but do cats really like to be pampered that much? I somewhat doubt it.
