Monkeys and the stock market

It turns out that monkeys have their own "stock market" too and that this stock market is also prone to fluctuations. Check out this article, to see what I mean.

Well, while the analogy to the stock market is certainly stretched quite a bit, it is interesting to note that the economic behavior of monkeys mimic that of humans when it comes to a rather complex pattern of trading. Which is one more evidence that Darwin was right: monkeys did descend from humans. Or was it the other way around?

On the other hand, this comes as no surprise to me. After all, it is a well known fact that any monkey throwing darts at stock tables can, on average, produce better results than the typical mutual fund manager. Now, this does not mean yet that they, meaning the monkeys, are really that good at trading games. Not at all. For instance,  they have yet to produce their own Bernie Madoff. As Jerry Seinfeld would put it, "what a shame." Yeah, no good at all...

And no stinking monkey will ever be able to compete with KING traders. Or even with George IV traders.
