Poker bots are coming!

Please do not purchase anything through the links on this page until you finish reading the entire article which is two pages long.

I knew it would happen. How? Well, I was a part of this industry for a few years. I cannot tell you everything, but the proprietary poker bots have definitely been around for years milking online casinos alright. It was only a matter of time for them to reach the public shore.

And now they have landed!  Now, your Bobby can play for you and make you tens of dollars an hour. Well, suppose it could make you only five bucks an hour. That's still not bad: if you let it run for 10 hours a day that makes for a nice supplemental income of $1500 or so a month.

Or you can only use it to learn how to play Hold'em by watching it play online. If you are just a beginner, you are unlikely to do better than Bobby. For $50, it's a pretty good deal if you ask me. And if you don't like it, you can still get your money back. You have up to 8 weeks to make up your mind if Bobby is any good or just eats your electrons...

If you like exploring new things, for fun or for profit, that's your thing.  So without any further ado let me introduce your poker bot.

Ladies and gentlemen,  here it is:

Bobby - your personal poker robot!
(Wondering why this link is dead? Read on...)

Now, is this is legal, you may ask. Good question, but as long as no law specifically addresses this matter, it is impossible to answer it. Logically, however, this means that it is not illegal, because no law forbids it as no law regulates this issue yet. Some people think that card counting in blackjack is illegal. This is not true. In fact, in 1983 a Nevada court declared that card counting was not illegal. Yet you can be easily banned from a casino if they found out that you are a card counter. Casinos' policy in this matter is absolutely uniform. That is not so when it comes to using poker robots in online casinos. Some of them do not allow robots and you can be banned from them if you are caught using one. Others, however, do not object to this. If this is something that troubles you, stick to the casinos that do not frown upon using robots and keep checking the robot policy of other casinos from time to time as it may change.

In case you wonder whether it's ethical to use bots, the answer is that there are no rules here. The casinos will never lose because of that (they get a rake) and if you think that a guy you play against in an online poker room is not on steroids, so to speak, well, that no longer is a safe assumption... It's a wild, wild world out there... In the world with no rules, the only rule is that there are no rules. Yes, that sounds like a contradiction which would eventually lead us to the Goedel theorems, so I think it's safer to stop here... To put it without any advanced math: you will either get a robot or a robot will get you!

Let me coach this in a more sophisticated manner, so that I do not come across as a total flippant: my point is that as long as casinos cannot completely enforce their no bot policy and therefore there is always a chance that someone can safely fly under their radar ripping you off of thousands of dollars, they have absolutely no right to forbid you to use your own bot. This issue is somewhat similar to the gun use in this country. I grew up in Europe which is a totally gun free continent and I hate guns. However, as a libertarian, I believe that as long as the government cannot absolutely guarantee that someone will not use a gun against me, the government has no right to tell me whether I can use a gun in self-defense or not!

As an insider, I know that poker bots are used in online casinos and they dominate average players while remaining largely undetected. It is for this reason that I believe the average Joe or Jane Schmoe should not be denied the right to use whatever bot they deem appropriate or can get their hands on. It is simply a matter of leveling the playing field, of equalizing your chances of success.

Thus my answer to this somewhat moral dilemma is: get the robot! But NOT until you flip to the next page
