HOME Eclectic	Reagan's  brilliance Ronald Reagan was one of the most popular US presidents ever. I liked him a lot. When he passed away, I went with another Polish fellow, who also was a big fan of his, to his presidential library in Simi Valley, down here in Southern California, where his casket was put for the public to pay the final respects. We had to wait some 8 hours in line to finally get to it, but he definitely earned that. I do realize that his legacy is checkered, which, in all fairness, can be said about the legacy of virtually all US presidents, but Reagan, being an actor, was very skillful, witty, if not brilliant, as an orator and some of his most humorous quips will remain the stuff of legends for many years to come.  Like those two below that come from his presidential debates (you may need to press Play in order to hear them): Debate #1,  Debate #2.
