Only one trade today, but probably my best one, at least in the recent memory of the last 6 years or so. But I still left about 100 points on the table that I would have grabbed had I remained committed to my position till the end of the daily trading session. Yet, it's really hard to complain. And it's hard to complain about the whole week either with two days over $1000. It was very volatile, probably courtesy of Mr. Putin, who not so long ago was hailed as the smarter player in the battle of wits against Mr. Obama. So, how is that game working out for you now, Vlad? Probably not too good, eh? George IV also scored nicely today, delivering 60 points in YM, though it did not trade at all in ES, fortunately enough, as that would have been a losing proposition due to the higher volatility of this market. Just a few trades today, on a day that was another rollover day for stock index e-mini futures. It's not a particularly good day to trade, mainly because the contract I trade almost exclusively these days (YM) feels noticeably thinner than only the day before and it actually is to some extent as not all traders have yet moved to trade it. I may even trade the old contract because of that from time to time, that is, on a rollover day, particularly if I am too lazy to switch to new charts. This may not be that noticeable in ES. Fortunately, on a reasonably volatile day, this effect is not as bad as on a relatively quiet day. Well, it may be a good time for a longer break; I have made enough money this month already and since Christmas is around the corner, I have to attend to other things, too. Another trading day in December, and another pretty slow day too, relatively speaking. Still, good enough overall, especially if you take into account that I started trading rather late. I posted a few Twitter trading updates today (in near real-time), the practice that I have embraced about 18 months ago. I am still waiting for my competitors to do the same. So far, the most salient way they acknowledged they did notice it was by unfollowing me on Twitter. What a way to admit that you are a pitiful loser! The market was pretty slow today again, and I did not get much sleep last night (probably not even 4 hours of sleep), so it was a bit of a struggle, but I still managed to post a good result, and that's all that counts in this business. The market was pretty slow today, which is not surprising considering that we have entered a major holiday week, but things should never be taken for granted. Still, in the holiday spirit indeed, I took only one trade and was done. This is a 5th trading day in a row, which means yet another full week of results has been posted this year, the 10th such a sequence in 2014. 669=3*223, meaning that, as a number that is a product of two different primes, it is a semiprime, just like 667, except that in the latter case the primes formed a sexy pair. I was trading in a range today, a rather tight range, and so things were slow. Moreover, I slept over 9 hours last night (still fighting some bugs, so a long sleep is advisable), which made me a bit sluggish today, which, in turn, probably intensified my feeling that things were slow. But I did okay, especially if you keep in mind that these 22 ticks (per contract) came from a 16 tick range. I recently noticed that my computer clock is behaving badly. Again. It can even jump by a whole hour for no obvious reason. It used to do it in the past too, then it stopped, now it's back to doing so again. It may also not keep time well in some other ways. I try to adjust my computer time using the Internet, but sometimes I forget, and sometimes when the difference is clearly less than 1 minute, I may not care. Except when the clock jumps by one hour, this has no impact on my trading, so there is no reason to worry about it. The small changes are in both directions, but it always jumps 1 hour forward and this can happen at any time, though usually no more than a few times a week. Computers often are not very good when it comes to keeping time. All my computers have had this issue to some extent and I have owned quite a few of them. 668=2*2*167, meaning it is a squareful integer (other examples are 8, 9, 12, 16, but not 10, 15 or 21) via an analogy to squarefree integers (e.g. 6, 15, 21); it's a rarely used term, so much that even Google has some issues with it. I got mugged by Mr. Market at some point today and ended up messing up things a bit during a sudden price surge that I suspect had something to do with the release of the minutes of last FOMC meeting, which usually constitutes a non-event. But nothing should be taken for granted when it comes to the financial markets. That 5 contract trade was a total mistake caused by pressing a wrong button and then right buttons, that were wrong again, as the first button was wrong. I managed to cover my losses quickly, though, and even added to my winners in later trading. Just a bit more drama than usual. Well, anyway, I still managed to do okay today with 7 trades, which is not that bad on a relatively slow trading day. Yet another good day this month, with the market being a bit slow again, but good volatile days don't last forever, and things turn more quiet after a while, which also explains why today I traded less than during those volatile days. And it's a weekend too. Incidentally, that's also the end of yet another full week of results (5 days in a row) this year, the 9th such a stretch in 2014. It is also the 666th daily trading result update, which means that I am doing like 111 of those a year on average. 666 is a nice number; it's both abundant and triangular (as the sum of the first 36 natural numbers), as you can verify through Wikipedia (or on your own), while 6 is perfect and also triangular (6=1+2+3). Also, 6 trades today, though I was about to quit after 5 only. The last one was a nice quickie, less than a minute in duration, that is, in this case even less than 30 seconds. I am glad it's a weekend. It was a very good week and I traded all 5 days, which does not happen that often, as I like to take a break from time to time, but it would not have been a good idea to take a break during the time when you can do much better than during less volatile days. I took 10 trades today, and that was all I could do because I was feeling more than a bit tired, also because of poor sleep last night. Overall, a great week and a good finish too. Good volatility continues and so do good results. Another $1000+ day, the third one in a row. I am not sure if I ever posted here something like that before, but I doubt it. I posted a few trading results updates to Twitter today too, just as usual. I keep working on the KING forum, but trading and the mental fatigue that comes from that is not making this easier. You put much more mental effort into this than you may realize, and you usually notice it only after the fact. At least, that's my case. Another good day, much fewer trades than yesterday, but the profit is about the same. I scored a bit over $200 within the first two minutes (even less) of trading and that grand plus took less than an hour. I am not sure if I have ever done that well that fast, on both counts. That's due to volatility, of course, and the strong trend that was re-affirmed by George IV that added another full winner in both markets (YM and ES); that means 16 winners out of 20 trades in ES so far this year, or the 80% winning rate, also known as "too good to be true" among morons on the trading forum run by a loser who blew two of his trading accounts and advises the hapless wannabes on the best way to a fast financial ruin. No, I kid you not; sadly, that's just real life. Less tweeting today, but with volatility that high I may not always be willing to bother with that, plus I did my best yesterday with 16 Twitter trading updates, so no one should complain. Oh, well. I got a bad headache after I was done trading today; mental exhaustion. It's 21 trades, 11 of them did not take even a whole minute (good volatility again), all winners (I hate to disappoint perennial losers, but stuff happens) and it's all documented in real-time on Twitter with 16 tweets with trading updates, which is either my record or close to it. I guess 17 Twitter trading results updates in one day is my record, but I am not completely sure at this point. I was supposed to see a doctor today, but rescheduled it. I thought it might be a nice trading day, after hitting $200+ in less than 5 minutes, so cancelling an appointment made some sense. But, except for one screenshot, I did not post anything else on Twitter. I think it was the right decision. That would only slow me down. Notice that out of these 15 trades, 8 took less than a minute, some a few seconds only. If I were tweeting, I doubt I would get so many quickies. On some days tweeting may really be counterproductive. It makes much more sense on slower days. I did not realize that I took 15 trades. I can't even recall taking the last six, and the last four were all quickies. Sometimes, when things move smoothly you are in trance. 3 trades, only 3 minutes in total, and over $200. Not bad. I was planning on trading today, so I opened my charts about 30 minutes by the daily session end, basically to collect the data, but simply could not resist what looked, as I said on Twitter, a sure thing. Pretty much like shooting fish in a barrel. Some situations are like that, but only with KING, and I probably should be saying it more often. It is indeed true that KING offers an insight you cannot get anywhere else because all the other trading methodologies are basically the same, they may use different indicators, but their philosophy or approach to this use is the same. With KING, it's not so, and once you get it and are willing to embrace it, you will become a much better trader than most people can dream of. A very good day, with 10 trades, 3 of which targeted at least 10 ticks, and 4 of which turned out to be quickies. Heck, some trades were 4 and 6 seconds in duration only. That's some speed, man! That was, obviously, a very volatile day. George IV also came close to issuing yet another signal, but, unfortunately, one condition was not met, though it was close. That's too bad, because had you entertained trades as indicated by the system, you would have enjoyed maximal profits in both markets. One more trading day in October whose results I decided to post here. I also reported them on Twitter, as I very often do. Only 5 trades, but the overall result is pretty good. The last trade, which I was hoping to be a quickie, turned out to be anything but. I decided to stay my course, though, because I was anticipating a strong bounce off of some magic line in the 5-minute chart. I quite often engage in this type of play, if I get a chance, that is, and I mentioned this on a few ocassions here before. Nothing brightens my mood better than starting a new month on a high note. Along with some other things, too many to count. I started trading quite late, which may happen from time to time, and I tend to start trading relatively late, anyway, but this time I had to deal with some computer glitch, or rather some odd behavior in one of the programs I rely on when trading. Don't expect many trading reports here this month. This has to be the month when the KING forum is launched. I do keep working on it. As well as paying for it, so I certainly have an extra motivation to put it to good use. It will come unless something serious interferes with it; touch wood, of course. As many as 11, which is a very decent number, but not a record. Another good day, with 3 quickies and 15 trades. Only with KING you can literally feel so invincible. Not on all days, that's not possible as some have lower volatility, but on good volatility days nothing works better than KING! It's a completely different philosophy and approach than all that garbage out there that is not even laughable, but pitiful, at best. Simplified so that it stands no chance to capture what's really going on in the market. But simple enough for every moron to lose money with. That's another milestone. The 650th trading report since I started posting them here about 6 years ago. For over a year now, I have also been posting my trading results on Twitter, very much in real time. I am not posting here as much as before, meaning this year and last one, because I am a bit too busy with other things, the KING forum being the most important of them. But 650 daily reports over the past 6 years means 100 or so a year on average. That's a decent number to showcase your trading methodology. Most vendors, even those charging more for their products, are hardly doing better, to put it mildly. Even fewer utilize Twitter for posting their trades. And then some are so pathetic, that they excel only at smearing their competitors. A fair critique is one thing, lies and libelous insinuations is another. Speaking of the KING trading forum, I sent out another e-mail to the KING owners yesterday, as also mentioned by me on Twitter. The bounce did happen eventually, though it took a bit longer than I was hoping for. Still, all's well that ends well. Not much trading today as I continue working on the KING forum, but took a few shots, nevertheless. I will keep you posted on my progress on the forum via Twitter, and then via some other channels (this site, my main e-mini futures blog, e-mail). In any case, I expect this forum to be fully functional by the end of this month, unless something bad happens, and the interested parties admitted by September 20th at the latest, so I am pretty much convinced that I will able to deliver what I have been promising for a while by the end of this summer. I was not planning on trading today and yet I made $500 in about 20 minutes. Funny, isn't it? I wasn't planning because the market looked congested when I opened my charts and I was more interested in working on the KING forum than anything else, but since the market surged suddenly, I could not resist what looked like easy money and went along with the strong upside move. The rest is history, as they say. There were 4 quickies in these 8 trades, a strong testimony to the fact the market was moving quite swiftly. I started with one and ended up with one too, making a trading sandwich in the process. Expect more information about the forum (which is now up on the web in an undisclosed location yet) on my main e-mini futures blog in the next few days and then by e-mail if you a KING owner. I had to attend to something else before the daily session end, so not as many trades as I might have taken otherwise, but still a very good day. The market seemed to be moving a bit slow for my taste, but that's probably because I was anticipating it to reach a new low of the day (which eventually happened). When you are anticipating something like that, things may not be happening fast enough for you even if volatility is just fine. Or at least, that's the best explanation I can think of. I guess this grand, the second one this month, is courtesy of Mr. Putin. The other one probably too, but not as directly, rather as a result of good volatility over the last few days, which, I think, has been in large part due to the situation in Ukraine and how it has been affecting the financial markets. Honestly, just thinking that I might owe him even 5 cents makes me feel dirty. I would donate this $2,000+ to charity in a heartbeat if that helped relieve this guy of his "missionary" duty. Alas, only the Russian people can do it, though they seem to be more interested in deciding the fate of Ukraine than their own country. That was a very good day, as it often happens when George IV is in full swing. I was not feeling too well today. I am not in the best shape these days and need yet to figure out why. Because of that I was not planning to take more than one good trade, pretty much as yesterday. But things turned out a bit differently, which can happen from time to time. Even often. Sometimes you just can't resist taking what seems to be a low hanging fruit. There were a few of those today. Overall, a pretty good day again. George IV came close to giving another signal, but some rule that I like to refer cryptically to as TBA overruled it. Let's call it yet another good start of yet another month. George IV came close to giving a signal, but, alas, one rather important condition was not met. You could have made over 40 points in YM and over 5 points in ES had you acted on the system would-be call. It was rather easy trading today, but since I did not get much sleep last night because of a savage next door, I decided to stop after 6 trades only to add 3 more. As I said on Twitter, probably more than once, it's not easy for me to decide when to finish for the day and it often takes me a few attemps before I am really done for good. That's because with this type of quick scalping there are always some opportunities in the market and it is more the matter of mental stamina than anything else how long you can keep trading. That's yet another full week of results, the 7th this year. As I said on Twitter, my patience pretty much run out after the first trade that took almost 2 hours to reach its target, though in all fairness, it was a larger target than usual. Because of that, I was not able to capitalize completely on two other trades where some more patience was needed. Still, the overall result is nothing to complain about and the first trade was already good enough to call it a day. The first 6 trades were perfect (no adding to the original position, that is) and they all reached their 5 tick target or else I would not consider them perfect. I thought about stopping there, but then changed my mind and took one more short. Well, it turned out to be less than perfect, forcing me to add to my position. I also exited it with a substandard profit because it looked to me like the market was about to reverse and perhaps even strongly. I would have eventually reached my target of 5 ticks on that last short today, but I thought it might be too risky to push it that hard. Instead I chose to take a long and get at least 10 ticks out of it, which seemed pretty doable. In fact, even 40 ticks was doable on this last trade, but that's another story. I may write more about this long reversal trade on my blog over this weekend. Speaking of perfection again, as I said a few days ago, it's more important to be effective than perfect and I believe that many wanna be traders never reach their full potential because they think too much in terms of perfection. For instance, they would rather have well defined entries and exits than be flexible enough to actually make money. The magic (well defined) resistance and support numbers cater to this need for platonic perfection, but the markets are too dynamic to respect them and unless you accept this fact and learn how to deal with it, you may never become a very good trader. Such numbers make some sense for mechanical trading, otherwise they may become your straight jacket. It's flexibility that makes you money (not perfection) in this business and I believe that can be said about many other businesses as well. I started early today because I wanted to watch the World Cup soccer game between USA and Germany. Unfortunately, but not unexpectedly, the US lost 0-1. But I still won my game. Only three trades, but that's enough considering the result above $300 and the fact that I am a bit sleepy. Well, not really, adding to the position can be helpful and profitable, and in trading you are always better off striving for being effective rather than perfect. I thought it was overall a good idea to build this larger 12-contract position and I was totally right because eventually the market tumbled big time, just as I was anticipating it. I think I am good at this, save for the timing, but then again, if my timing were better I would not be able to build this sort of position, so I naturally assume that my timing may not be very good, but that the outcome of building my position is likely to be right on the money. Well, if you use the same trading methodology for years, you will know Mr. Market's behavior like the back of your hand. The first trading day in June was tough. At first, I was stuck in a small range of less than 20 ticks like forever, then the market expanded and I was sort of caught by that. Based on the 5-minute chart, I was expecting it to reverse sharply down. Well, that's what it did eventually, but at first it moved quite a bit against me. I decided to stick to my guns and kept building my position hoping that the reversal would eventually take place. When that indeed happened, I failed to capitalize on it properly bailing out with only ca 1 tick in gross profit, which was a net loss after commissions. But since the market was now pushing strongly downwards, I used this as an opportunity for two quick shorts to get over $200 which is my daily profit target. This 12 contract position was good not only for 5 ticks, as I observed on Twitter, but had I waited long enough (some 10 minutes or so longer), I would have even claimed 10 ticks in profit on it, which shows that my reading of the market based on the 5-minute chart was correct after all. But my timing was not the best this time around. Still, all's well that ends well. Don't expect many trading updates this month. I really want to launch the KING trading forum in July, at the very latest, so I decided to curtail posting my daily trading updates here and on Twitter. I have been posting them for quite a while now, so it's really high time for other things to gain priority. I suggest you keep an eye on my Twitter feed for more news about the forum, but if you are a KING owner, you will get advised about it in great detail via e-mail. The market jumped up in the morning, but stalled later on and it became obvious that the best way to trade it was as it were in a range with a slightly upside bias, which practically means trading either side. Since I prefer the short side and my first attempt on the long one was not exactly successful (could have still won this battle, but decided to reverse my position, a bit prematurely in hindsight), most of the trades I took today were shorts. Yet another day in paradise. Yes, the days when the weather is moderate, LA, and Southern California in general, is a paradise of sorts. Let's hope the moderate weather stays with us all the way through this summer. Heck, it may even rain, the rain is very needed in California, anyway, but that's a very tall order this time of the year in LA. The rain is unlikely here for many more months to come. Until November or so. I took a few trades today and since the market developed a very strong downtrend I was not afraid to build a slightly bigger position on two occasions. Bigger than usual, but not really something extraordinary. I may do this from time to time if I think that it's the best way to handle things. Sometimes, it can also be the simplest way, or even the laziest way to do so. "The trend is your friend," as the saying goes among the traders. After a few days of really high temeperatures in LA (over 101 F, which is about 40 C in the rest of the world), things are back to normal. May is usually not that hot in LA, but it can be from time to time. Unfortunately, California has been suffering from a drought of epic proportions for the past 2 years or so, so the climate issues we are facing these days in California are much more serious than just a few days of really high temperatures in the City of Angeles. And since California is a very important agricultural region that produces more fruits and veggies than any other state of the Union, this is a serious issue to all Americans and to quite a few foreigners as well, who might even not know that, say, their almonds come from California. Yes, California now grows 80 percent of the world's almonds. But, fortunately, my trading is as good as ever, and today was no exception to this rule. Such exceptions are very rare indeed. I took a loss at some point, only to compensate for it quickly and then I took one more trade to finish the day with 10 trades in total, and 5 Twitter reports that posted my trading results in near real-time, the practice that I have continued for almost a year now. The first 5 trades took me over $200 and they all took place in a range of only 11 ticks, yet they summarily amount to 24 ticks in profit (per contract). The market was pretty slow again, but I still managed to squeeze out $300+ from it within about 2 hours, with all the trades being winners, though some pretty paltry (like 3-4 ticks per contract only). This also completes another full week of results (the 6th one this year). The market was pretty slow and so trading it was a bit of a challenge and a tad frustrating. Especially so that I got myself into a hole after a loss of about $300, but as you can see from the screenshot above I still ended up on a very positive note. I really did not have to take this loss, but instead could have built my short position. That would have worked out well too. There is often more than one way to handle your position in discretionary trading. Since the market had a slight uptrend, I thought that reversing that trade with a loss was a better option, but in hindsight it really was not. Well, you can still do well with an occasional loss here and there even a bigger one. Just don't give up too easily. Since volatility was good, I could target bigger profits, which explains these two 10-pointers. However, since my stomach was acting up (I still need to work out some intestinal problems, but that often takes longer than you would like it), I had to limit my trading to just a handful of trades. Just one trade, but a good one. Inspired by George IV that called another trade in YM today, though it was a loser, but to the tune of 20 points only, much less than its biggest winners. The market moved nearly 40 points from the entry point in our favor, but it still closed 20 points against us, even though we were in the positive territory 15 minutes before its close. Well, that can happen from time to time. It's the first losing trade out of 12 this year, and no losers in ES so far, though they are likely to happen. I usually don't report on results below $200 here, and if I do, that's basically to mention that they do happpen from time to time too. Today I was up over $300, but lost a bit on the last trade and that dropped my profits below $200. That last trade could have been played better. These days I open my positions with 2 contracts and may add to them, though very often that's not necessary and in most cases I don't add more than two contracts. Today was such a day. Yet another Monday
And a good one too, for George IV, in particular. It scored another 6 points in its primary market (ES) and 30 points in YM. The system was originally designed for ES, so perhaps it is not surprising that it is doing better in this market, but it came very close to claiming 60 points in YM. About only 5 points from the 60 point target. It's the 8th win for this system out of 8 trades this year and it's still only $200 (not for much longer!). But an even better deal at this point is in a combo with other e-mini trading systems in the George family. I am not feeling too well today. After 2 shots I got last Friday, I am sore all over my body and getting some fever appparently because I am sweating too. I hope those that claim that vaccinations are dangerous are wrong, but I was certainly not antcipating this kind of reaction. It ends on Pi Day, the day one of the most famous scientists was born in 1879. His name was Albert Einstein. The same day, just a few years later, a Polish mathematician, Waclaw Sierpinski, was born. He is known most, at least among those with a casual interest in mathematics, as the man behind the Sierpinski triangle or gasket, a cool object with fractal properties. Markets, as I observed today on Twitter, are fractal too, and quite a bit has been written about it in the literature. Also a good day for me, but kinda slow, so I did less trading than I would usually do on a day George IV signals a trade. And I got up quite a bit too early for my sleeping habits of the devout night person. That's because I was anticipating another signal from George IV. Three 10-pointers
And the third day in a row over $500 (even over $600). Also one quickie. Still the whole week, as I just noticed on Twitter, feels pretty sluggish to me. The other day I heard from a guy who wanted to know if I had something slower than KING. I kid you not. I thought the greatest thing about KING was that you could take a few quick trades and be done. But, apparently, to some people trading is not about money. They have some other needs they want to be satisfied first. Maybe I should stress how comfortably lazy (slow, etc.) you can be once you have made $500, which is not that infrequent if you really want to apply yourself and you don't really need gobs of contracts for that either. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Well, I know I am a lousy marketer, but if you really want something slower, I think KING can deliver here too. For instance, I watched the last trade today comfortably resting on a couch. I did not even care that much about the result as long as it was going to be 10 ticks. Plus, not minus, of course. I could have been even 20, as I also noticed on Twitter, where I posted all my trading results today, in near real time. If you don't understand this headline, that may have something to do with the fact that you don't follow me on Twitter. But you can quickly make this up by reading my today's blog post on my main e-mini futures blog. In any case, that's yet another great trading day that I almost ended prematurely because my stomach got upset after the very first trades. Fortunately, I was able to overcame it and ended up as a big winner in today's confrontation with the forces of darkness led by Mr. Market, an old fart and a perennial loser, but mean well above the average, not only for his age bracket. As yesterday, I posted many times on Twitter while trading and that includes as many as 13 result updates. Yes, as many as 13, though this is still a bit shy off my record, which is 15 if I am not mistaken. Today is February 26th and that's the 30th day of e-mini trading results with KING this year.
Rehabilitating number 13
Not the very first time around, I must say, but once may not be enough for some. So as you can see trade number 13 was just as fine as all the other trades. Nothing to fear at all. At least if you are a KING trader because I am not quite sure if many other traders can safely avoid this "dangerous" number. Or any number lower than 10, if I am to be very generous. There are a few quickies in this screenshot (that is trades that did not take even a whole minute to reach the target of at least 5 ticks in YM), and even trade number 13 was almost a quickie (just 2 seconds shy to be considered the real McCoy). Yet another great day, with 15 trades in about 2 hours and as many as 11 result updates on Twitter. Only up to 4 contracts per position used or what I like to call classic KING trading. Today is February 25th and that's the 29th day of e-mini trading results with KING this year.
Mr. Market gets on my nerves
And then loses twice when I get pissed off. I got stuck in a short 4-contract position and exited it with 1 tick only. It was taking too long even though the 5-minute chart was telling me that there was still a good chance the market would move in my favor. Well, I guess I just had too much on my mind and that's not too conducive to trading, so I exited that trade with just one tick. Only too see the market move as anticipated and in a big way, which obviously looked like an insult to me. Or to may patience of staying in that trade for so many damn minutes. I could not let it go without a proper revenge, so 2 more trades quickly followed. And I said all that on Twitter too in pretty much real time; see the updates page. I improved the score even more via 3 more trades. Today is February 21st and that's the 28th day of e-mini trading results with KING this year.
A week later
Keeping busy with other things, so not posting much here nor to Twitter, but there are nearly 600 daily trading updates in these sections so how much more can you possibly need? Other things have to take center stage now. But I will keep posting here as long as KING is available if only to let you know that I am open for business. I don't plan on trading a lot for the rest of this month as I am busy with many things that need to taken care of. Some of them are well overdue. Like the e-mini trading forum. And some other things, of more personal nature, cannot wait much longer either. But I will probably trade at least 2 times a week. Today was one of such days. Two days ago George IV almost gave another signal, but it really didn't because one condition was not met for the proper mechanical entry to take place. Computer crash
I got up early, probably because I was anticipating another signal for George IV, but it was too early for me, a commited night person, so I decided to take a quick nap after 2 trades. Alas, my computer crashed before I managed to do so and that got me busy fixing it. I decided not to trade until I was sure it was working well again, which meant no more trades today. And I was even more sleepy too. Not a good combination. In the meantime, George IV delivered yet another winner, this time on the long side. That's the 5th total victory for this system this year in 5 trades total! Yes, that means every trade it called so far this year was a winner to the tune of 60/6 points in YM/ES or $1500 in total with one paltry contract only! That's really sweet. Or something, though luck was not the most important factor to decide the outcome of today's trading. Notice that the first 20 ticks (first 4 trades) came from a range of only 13 ticks, which I also mentioned on Twitter. That's skilled trading, not luck. There were also a few quickies today, five, if I am not mistaken. That's also skilled trading, to a large extent, at least. Anyway, another good day with a few Twitter updates as usual. We are only 20 daily trading reports away from report number 600. I will get there eventually, I think, though my main objective now is the forum. That actually was lucky 9 with 6 quickies! Just yet another good day
Yes, another good day. Not as many 10-pointers (only one) as yesterday, but that's fine because there wasn't much room for that. But I got 4 quickies, which is always nice. I did not expect to take so many trades because I thought it would be a boring market to trade, but things turned out to be somewhat different. One more evidence that it's not easy to predict things. I posted 9 Twitter updates today, quite a bit, but not as many as yesterday. And here is yet another Twitter trading update, the 10th and last one today. I you want to know what this last trade was motivated by, here is your answer. That was a gamble, but a good one because I knew that Mr. Market was most likely bluffing. That was the case indeed. That could have been a 40-pointer, but I settled for a 10-pointer, though I was very tempted to go for a 20-pointer. That's the third day over $1000 in a row. Good volatility and good methodology are bound to yield good results. Today is February 4th and that's the 22nd day of e-mini trading results with KING this year.
Two full weeks and the best day of the year so far
That was yet another good day. Actually, it was a great day! Did you notice how often I refer to good days as "not bad?" Well, that must be a Polish thing, I think. The 4th day this year when I made over a grand (almost the 5th one, one day was really very shy off $1000) and the best day so far this year. This could actually pay for KING, so I really don't think I am charging too much for it. In fact, I believe the opposite is true, and the price will go up sooner or later again. I remain commited to the forum and I re-iterated this commitment recently, but if these good, volatile days continue, I am afraid this may get delayed again. I sure hope not and I really want it to come. And it will. In case you are getting worried that I am turning into some monstrous early bird, fear not. That's probably only temporary. I posted 11 Twitter trading updates today as you can also see on the updates page. Only 2 trades out of 12 today were less than 10 ticks, as you would probably expect it to be on a good, volatile day like this one. Well, I think it's time for a break from posting here and focusing on the forum again. That wasn't all and here is the last Twitter trading update, the 15th in a row, and that could be a new record when it comes to the number of Twitter updates like that in a single trading session, if I am not mistaken. Even earlier
Yes, very early (at least for me) and that's because a repairman showed up in my place early this morning. Around 7 AM. Some freaking early bird. George IV gave another signal today, but not in a very good place, so I am not sure what will happen eventually (see my blog for an update later today). The first trade was motivated by this signal. I think 5 trades is enough today. It's a Friday after all. If I trade some more, you will see the updates posted on Twitter where I have already posted 5 trade results in near real-time. It's my twentieth trading day this month, which would mean that I did not trade only one day in January. That's pretty heavy trading by my standards, but January was a good, volatile month, so that probably explains it. And speaking of updates, here's my final result and here's my announcement of yet another resounding victory for George IV. I kid you not, that's the fourth such a victory out of four trades this year. Another 60 points in YM and 6 points in ES. Today is January 31st and that's the 20th day of e-mini trading results with KING this year.
Kinda early for a change ...
But not too early, merely relative to yesterday. Not a bad day, but felt kinda slow and so you will see me kvetching about it on Twitter today. But overall, there was really nothing to be complaining about. I even got two 10-pointers and one quickie, but compared to yesterday it felt like things were sluggish. And I can't believe that I did not add to my position even once! Today is January 30th and that's the 19th day of e-mini trading results with KING this year.
Better late than never ...
I woke up pretty late today. I was not sure if to trade or not, but eventually did go for it. Mostly because of good volatility. George IV came very close to giving another strong signal today again, as you can learn from my blog (see today's entry) and that usually means good volatility. So was the case today. Notice many 10-pointers and many quickies, even quickies that were 10-pointers! Notice also that I was up nearly $250 in only 5 minutes! And it took me less than half an hour to make more than $500 using only a handful of contracts, no more than four at any time. As usual, I posted several Twitter updates today as well. I have been doing this for over 7 months now. Today is January 29th and that's the 18th day of e-mini trading results with KING this year.

I wasn't planning on trading today and even mentioned it on Twitter, but then I just could not resist. Can you get addicted to trading? I am not sure. But I must say that when I don't trade I feel a bit guilty. Like being a slacker or something. Sure, a break from time to time is healthy too. But sometimes even when taking a break, I just can't resist. Oh, well, I guess one can have bigger problems. There are two quickies in this screenshot. Just two good trades
Because volatility was good again I decided to target at least 10 ticks. I posted 2 Twitter trading results updates today; you can also see them on the updates page. This completes yet another full week of trading results this year, the third such a week. Today is January 27th and that's the 16th day of e-mini trading results with KING this year.
Almost a grand
The last trade could have been a 10-pointer too, or even a 20-pointer as it had the potential for that too. But it was already a bit too late and the market moved a bit too strong against my position, so I decided to close it at 5 ticks only. Overall, another great day. George IV gave another short signal and delivered 60 points in YM and 6 points in ES again. That's the third time this year. Yes, three winners in a row, to the tune of 180 pts and 18 points in ES. You may not find another system that good for only $150, if only because the price will soon go up. I posted 7 Twitter trading results updates today, after each trade, the first of which was a 20-pointer and was inspired by George IV, just like the 30-pointer yesterday was. I was not really expecting George IV to score 60/6 points, whch shows that it's not so easy to predict things, especially those in future. But some people have made careers predicting the past. Like most trading vendors, for instance. Today is January 24th and that's the 15th day of e-mini trading results with KING this year.
The second day over $1000 this year
And to think that I almost did not trade today! Yes, as crazy as this may sound (in hindsight), I woke up a bit too early for may taste, the day seemed gloomy too (due to a marine layer, I suppose), so it was one of those days I would rather do something else, particularly that I have quite a backlog of things to do. Then I played Tetris and got 104 on my first try, so I thought that I might be capable of doing some trading after all. I opened the charts and the first thing I noticed was that George IV was on its way to give a very strong signal. I went along with it with just 2 contracts (not too crazy, should have used more, but that's hindsight too) and decided to go for 30 points. Not too crazy, again, but I did not want to bother with 60 points. It might have taken too long and there was no guarantee I would get them. But I did get 30 quite easily as you can also see from my Twitter feed where I posted all my trades today. Then, encouraged by this good volatility, I decided to attack no less than 10 ticks in all the other trades, until I hit $1000, which was the right moment to stop. I did not get that much sleep (barely over 6 hours) to go for $2000 today. Still, this $1000 plus was accomplished with no more than 3 contracts per position. That's the power of both KING and George IV, and the reason why I recommend George IV along with KING should now be more obvious, I hope. George IV eventually did reach 60 points, the second such a feat this year on its second trade. That's over a grand too with only two YM e-mini futures contracts! And the system is only $150. Yeah, I know I am a lousy marketer (I should be charging at least twice as much for it), but if you want to learn day trading e-mini futures from a good marketer, I really wish you good luck because you need it more than anything else. Except, perhaps, brains. Incidentally, my today's result proves that you can do better as a discretionary trader compared to using a mechanical system even on its very good day. That's why it makes sense to trade in a discretionary manner, especially with KING, though I might be biased here. Not that this bias is not justified by all the results I have produced and continue producing. Today is January 23rd and that's the 14th day of e-mini trading results with KING this year.
Got lucky again?
I wish I were that lucky indeed because then I would rather be playing the lottery. The last trade could have even been a 10-pointer, but it was too late to be that aggressive. I should have been more aggressive when handling it by adding to my position faster. But all's well that ends well, though I was close to losing today. Maybe also because it was my 13th trading day this year. I am not superstitious, but your subconscious tends to play tricks on you. I also started trading rather late, woke up at 3 AM and could not fall asleep for a long time annoyed by some noise. There were 2 quickies today, one borderline. This is screenshot number 570, only 30 more to 600, which will most likely be the last I will post here. Heck, I may even not reach it. It's not like I can predict everything. Let's call it "lucky seven"
But luck has not much to do with it. It's mostly skill. Discretionary trading is the art of skilled trading. I started with a quickie and I thought I might end my trading today with another quickie, but, alas, that was not the case, though the last trade did not take even 90 seconds. Mixed bag
In terms of size, otherwise just straight wins, though also with varying targets. The biggest size position could have actually been a 10-pointer or even a 30-pointer, but it was meandering a bit too much, so I decided to exit it sooner. Well, you will not always get it perfect. And it's a Friday, so I am a bit tired. It was a tiring week for me for some other reasons too, not having anything to do with trading, so I am glad it's almost over. This is also the second full week of results this year. I am not trying to set any new records this year, but I may post a few more such full weeks here this year too. We'll see. Not a whole devil ...
Just a half of it. I got whipsawed a bit today. I should have been more aggressive, and had I been, I would have avoided all these losses. But I was sluggish (only 6 hours of sleep last night) and that affected my performance today. Three losses is above the average, but on some days, especially in a tight market, this may happen. I eventually realized that sticking to my position instead of reversing it was the way to beat this old bastard. Meaning, Mr. Market. Back to normal
Small to moderate size, this time around, but the results still pretty good. I started with a quickie again. That's the third time in a row that this has happened and nothing to complain about. Bigger size
I could have reversed that last trade, but considering that the previous day was a wide range day, I was expecting a narrow range day today. Also the trend, though up, was rather weak and often reversing to the mean. Well, I did not expect to end up with over 10 contracts, but that may happen sometimes when I choose to build my position. Not that often, but if you are discretionary trader you can do more than one thing at a time. Both can make equal sense. There are also two quickies in this screenshot. I started with one, just as yesterday. I posted only one Twitter trading update today. Today is January 14th and that's the 8th day of e-mini trading results with KING this year.
Another week
The market was dropping all the day. It's not hard to make money on days like that and this screenshot reflects this. There are two quickies in this screenshot, the first only 5 seconds in duration, which shows that the market was pretty volatile. The other took almost a minute, but still less than the full minute. Though I was not planning to trade today, I did end up doing so eventually. The market was moving too nicely to pass it up, so I took several trades before taking a nap. The first full week of trading updates this year
There are 5 quickies in this screenshot, four of which I announced in near real-time updates on Twitter as you can also see on the updates page. Three of them were in a row. That's nice. The trend was clearly down and so I could afford to add to my position more liberally (up to 12 contracts on one occasion) and remained down despite some higher volatility around the Fed minutes release about 2 P.M. Those don't tend to influence the market as much as the FOMC announcements simply because all the data has already been digested by the market and there's little left to surprise it. This update completes the first full week of results this year. It's about time for a break. Last year I posted over 20 such full weeks, but I am not planning to improve this record in any way this year or next one, though I doubt KING will be available in 2015. There is plenty of evidence on this site that KING works, if you still need more, ask someone else to provide it for you and you will see how much better they will do. There are over 560 daily updates like this one on this site since I started posting them in late 2008. I will probably reach 600, but I doubt I will ever reach 700. Just another good day
Despite a little hiccup at the very beginning of trading today. Two quickies took me over $200 as I mention in one of my Twitter trading updates, 4 of which I posted there today. You can also check them out on the updates page. So, another great day in the paradise, the paradise being Southern California, where I happen to live. Nothing beats this weather down here. The first day over $1000 this new year
I almost wanted to quit after a few trades today because the market got stuck in a relatively small range a gave me a few whipsaws in this early trading. And my nose got congested too. One congestion is still fine, but when you have to deal with two, that may be too much to handle. Fortunately, the market broke out of this range and I managed to take as many as 15 trades and posted 10 Twitter updates with the screenshots like the one above attached. You can also see them on the updates page. There are 2 quickies in this screenshot, meaning trades that did not last even a full minute. Today, my computer clock was as much as 2 minutes fast today compared to the Twitter clock, so on at least one occasion, my trade was completed later than I posted it, which obviously was due to this fact. I often adjust my computer clock before I open my charts, being aware that this may take place, but it is not that often and so you can expect the difference of a minute or two in some cases, if I let my clock lapse badly. Since this has virtually no impact on my trading, this pattern will probably not change, so keep this in mind if this happens again. Trading on the first day of the new year
The market dropped pretty heavily and George IV gave a very solid short signal, so it was really a no-brainer to be on a short side, which is what I was doing using at times a larger number of contracts than usually. When George IV gives you a strong bias, you often don't need much of a strategy. You just go with the bias and add to your position to average it down if needed. Incidentally, George IV delivered 60 points today, a very good performance on the very first day of trading this year. That would be $300 per contract (in YM), and if you consider that its price is only $150, I would call it a very good deal. But an even better deal at this point is in a combo with other e-mini trading systems in the George family. For more about the George IV's performance see my today's blog post. I posted a few tweets with my trade results today again, a steady practice that I have continued for many months now, which you can also see on the updates page. I don't expect to be posting here as much as did last year (over 150 posts) in the section for last year's KING's trading results, but I will from time to time. There are almost 560 daily trading updates like this one posted over the last 6 years or so, so I believe that adding even another 150 is not going to make any major difference.
